Private ferry slips, diesel tanker nearly falls into water at Adpai

A private ferry at the Adpai ferry point nearly dropped a diesel tanker into the water when it drifted from its position. The incident was averted as the ferry remained in shallow water. The River Navigation Department stated the ferry was not part of their service and had no permission to use the ramp. The ferry slipped due to improper securing to the mooring pile, but was repositioned and the tanker removed without significant damage. Regulatory oversight for such incidents is expected to transfer to the Goa Maritime Board.

अडपाई फेरी पॉइंट पर एक निजी फेरी अपनी जगह से खिसक गई, जिससे एक डीजल टैंकर पानी में गिरने से बाल-बाल बच गया। यह घटना टल गई क्योंकि फेरी उथले पानी में ही रह गई। रिवर नेविगेशन विभाग ने बताया कि फेरी उनकी सेवा का हिस्सा नहीं थी और उसे रैंप का उपयोग करने की कोई अनुमति नहीं थी। फेरी को मूअरिंग पाइल से ठीक से न बांधने के कारण वह फिसली, लेकिन उसे फिर से ठीक कर दिया गया और टैंकर को बिना किसी खास नुकसान के हटा दिया गया। ऐसे हादसों की नियामक निगरानी गोवा मैरीटाइम बोर्ड को हस्तांतरित होने की उम्मीद है।
