The Supreme Court has issued notices to the Election Commission, Maharashtra Chief Electoral Office, and the state government regarding allegations of voter list "Special Intensive Revision" (SIR) in Maharashtra. A petition claims 33% of voters, and up to 40% in some areas, have been removed without proper provision, requiring them to fill Form 6. Senior advocate Arvind Datar argued that 1.22 crore names were removed due to "logical discrepancy." The court will hear the matter again, after Diwali holidays.
