Ladakh Channels 60 Lakh Litres Glacier Meltwater

Ladakh has successfully channelised approximately 60 lakh litres of glacier meltwater into four large ponds constructed under Project Him Sarovar. These ponds, located at Spituk Farka in Leh, were filled in just five months, with construction starting on April 10, 2026, and completion on September 9. This initiative is expected to irrigate over 1000 acres of arid farmlands, conserve precious water, and support ecological restoration. Lieutenant Governor V.K.

लद्दाख ने 60 लाख लीटर ग्लेशियर का पिघला पानी रोका

लद्दाख ने प्रोजेक्ट हिम सरवर के तहत बने चार बड़े तालाबों में करीब 60 लाख लीटर ग्लेशियर का पिघला पानी जमा कर लिया है। ये तालाब लेह के स्पितुक फड़का में हैं और 10 अप्रैल 2026 से 9 सितंबर तक सिर्फ पांच महीने में भर गए। इससे 1000 एकड़ से ज़्यादा सूखी ज़मीन की सिंचाई होगी, पानी बचेगा और पर्यावरण भी सुधरेगा।
