Kerala High Court Denies Stay on Toll Collection at Nattika Fee Plaza

The Kerala High Court has refused to grant a temporary stay on toll collection at the Nattika Fee Plaza on NH-66. A public interest litigation challenged the proposed toll, citing incomplete highway works. The Union government stated that 51 kilometers of the 60-kilometer stretch are complete and only proportionate toll is collected. Concerns were also raised about the condition of flyovers, inadequate street lighting, and missing signage. The court directed authorities to consider the petitioner's representations and posted the matter for further hearing.

केरल हाई कोर्ट ने NH-66 पर नत्तिका फी प्लाजा में टोल वसूली पर अस्थायी रोक लगाने से इनकार कर दिया है। एक जनहित याचिका में अधूरे हाईवे कार्यों का हवाला देते हुए प्रस्तावित टोल को चुनौती दी गई थी। केंद्र सरकार ने कहा कि 60 किलोमीटर के स्ट्रेच में से 51 किलोमीटर पूरा हो गया है और केवल आनुपातिक टोल वसूला जा रहा है। फ्लाईओवर की स्थिति, अपर्याप्त स्ट्रीट लाइटिंग और गायब साइनेज के बारे में भी चिंता जताई गई थी। अदालत ने अधिकारियों को याचिकाकर्ता के अभ्यावेदनों पर विचार करने का निर्देश दिया और मामले को आगे की सुनवाई के लिए सूचीबद्ध किया।
