Election Commission Suspends Two EROs in Pilibhit Over Voter List Irregularities

The Election Commission of India has taken strict action against alleged irregularities in the voter list of the 127-Pilibhit Assembly constituency in Uttar Pradesh. Two Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), Mayank Goswami and Hemant Chaudhary, have been suspended with immediate effect. The commission also directed to add Section 198 of the BNS, 2023, to the FIR against the officials and a computer operator.

चुनाव आयोग ने उत्तर प्रदेश की 127-PILIBHIT विधानसभा सीट की वोटर लिस्ट में कथित गड़बड़ियों के खिलाफ सख्त कार्रवाई की है। दो इलेक्टोरल रजिस्ट्रेशन ऑफिसर (EROs), मयंक गोस्वामी और हेमंत चौधरी को तत्काल प्रभाव से सस्पेंड कर दिया गया है। आयोग ने अधिकारियों और एक कंप्यूटर ऑपरेटर के खिलाफ FIR में BNS, 2023 की धारा 198 जोड़ने का भी निर्देश दिया है।
