India's Cert-In Warns Banks of AI-Driven Fund Transfer Fraud
Business Standard · technology
India's cybersecurity watchdog, Cert-In, has issued a fresh advisory to banking and financial institutions, warning of an AI-driven cyber threat campaign named "Crafty Falcon." This sophisticated attack uses publicly available AI tools to execute cyber breaches autonomously and at machine speed, generating customized attack scripts rapidly. The threat is active and ongoing, with attackers exploiting vulnerabilities and targeting systems during holidays and weekends to delay detection. Cert-In identified several AI tools being used, including LLM-based tools and autonomous penetration testing systems, to gain unauthorized access and execute malicious operations.
