Professional golf is returning to Mumbai after a significant gap of 12 to 15 years with the launch of the Shri Shashi Ruia Memorial Golf Championship. The DP World Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) announced the tournament, featuring a ₹2 crore prize purse, to be held at the Willingdon Sports Club from January 12-15, 2027. PGTI CEO Amandeep Johl expressed hope that the event will provide a much-needed boost and positive buzz for the sport in the western region.
