Kamal Reveals Casting Struggles for Aami; Vidya Balan, Nayanthara Opted Out

Director Kamal has shared the casting challenges for his 2018 film 'Aami', based on writer Kamala Surayya's life. Initially, Vidya Balan was considered for the lead role but withdrew from the project. Subsequently, Nayanthara was approached, but she lacked confidence in portraying the character, and Kamal also couldn't envision her as Madhavikutty. The producer's insistence and Kamal's confidence in her abilities ultimately led to Manju Warrier being cast as the final choice for the celebrated writer.
