A Texas man of Indian origin, Aanand Shukla, has been sentenced to five years in prison for orchestrating a tax fraud scheme. He helped clients dodge taxes and conceal over $27 million in income from the US government between 2017 and 2025. Shukla promoted trust-based arrangements, charging clients between $25,000 and $225,000. He instructed them to route income through trusts and use them for personal expenses, claiming deductions.
