Sri Lanka Suffers Islandwide Power Outage For Over Three Hours

Times of India - India · india

Sri Lanka experienced an islandwide power outage on Saturday, lasting for more than three hours and impacting water supplies, internet, and mobile connectivity. Authorities worked to restore electricity in stages across the nation. The cause of the blackout remains unclear, though a failure at a central hydropower station detected on Friday is being investigated as a potential contributor. The government advised owners of rooftop solar panels to keep their systems disconnected from the grid until the network stabilizes.
