Harish Rao, Deputy Leader of the BRS Legislature Party, has strongly criticized the Telangana government for allegedly fleecing passengers by collecting double fares on RTC buses during the festive season. He pointed out that regular services are being converted into 'special services' with inflated prices, citing examples like the JBS to Karimnagar route fare increasing from ₹230 to ₹400. Rao demanded the government withdraw these increased fares and reinstate regular services, noting that RTC fares have already risen five times in three years.

बीआरएस विधायक दल के उपनेता टी. हरीश राव ने तेलंगाना सरकार पर त्योहारी सीजन में आरटीसी बसों में यात्रियों से दोगुना किराया वसूलकर उन्हें लूटने का जोरदार आरोप लगाया है। उन्होंने कहा कि सामान्य सेवाओं को बढ़ी हुई कीमतों के साथ 'स्पेशल सेवाओं' में बदला जा रहा है, और उन्होंने जेबीएस से करीमनगर मार्ग का उदाहरण दिया जहां किराया ₹230 से बढ़कर ₹400 हो गया है। राव ने सरकार से बढ़े हुए किराए को वापस लेने और सामान्य सेवाएं बहाल करने की मांग की, यह भी कहा कि पिछले तीन सालों में आरटीसी के किराए में पहले ही पांच बार बढ़ोतरी हो चुकी है।
