This sharp decline has led both companies' stocks to hit new 52-week lows. The downturn follows proposed regulatory changes by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (Irdai) concerning insurance distribution rules and commission structures. While the companies state the price movement is market-driven, they acknowledge the potential impact of Irdai's proposed adjustments on their operational costs.
