India LPG Customers Drop After Decade of Growth

India has lost approximately 6.2 million LPG customers between April and August, marking the first decline in over a decade. This contraction, from 333.9 million to 327.7 million connections, is attributed to the Iran war disrupting Gulf supplies, which previously met 90% of India's LPG import needs. Oil companies have halted new connections and tightened checks on existing users. The shift also involves a move towards piped natural gas in some areas, contributing to the overall reduction in LPG usage.
