Vellore Firecracker Unit Owner Arrested After Two Workers Die

The owner of a firecracker manufacturing unit in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, has been arrested after an explosion killed two workers. Hari Prasad, the owner of Sri Sapthagiri Firework Company, was apprehended by police. The incident occurred on Wednesday when workers were packing firecrackers, leading to an explosion that destroyed the 100 sq. ft. unit. One worker died instantly, and another sustained severe burns, later succumbing to her injuries. The district collector handed over ex-gratia payments to the deceased workers' families, and the unit's license has been cancelled.

तमिलनाडु के वेल्लोर में एक पटाखा बनाने वाली इकाई के मालिक को दो मजदूरों की मौत के बाद गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया है। श्री सप्तगिरी फायरवर्क कंपनी के मालिक हरि प्रसाद को पुलिस ने पकड़ा। यह घटना बुधवार को हुई जब मजदूर पटाखे पैक कर रहे थे, जिससे 100 वर्ग फुट की इकाई में विस्फोट हो गया। एक मजदूर की मौके पर ही मौत हो गई और दूसरे गंभीर रूप से झुलस गई, जिसकी बाद में चोटों के कारण मौत हो गई। जिला कलेक्टर ने मृत मजदूरों के परिवारों को अनुग्रह राशि सौंपी और इकाई का लाइसेंस रद्द कर दिया गया है।
