Centre to Address Delhi O-Zone Land Issues After High-Level Meetings

The Central government will now handle issues concerning Delhi's O-Zone, the protected Yamuna floodplain area. The Union housing and urban affairs ministry will coordinate with agencies on demarcation, land ownership, and settlement status. Five high-level meetings have been held, with the Delhi Development Authority requesting more time to gather information. The matter is also pending before the Delhi High Court. South Delhi MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri has advocated for residents of O-Zone settlements, highlighting the presence of government buildings and thousands of families facing demolition threats.

केंद्र सरकार अब दिल्ली के ओ-ज़ोन, यानी यमुना के संरक्षित बाढ़ क्षेत्र से जुड़े मुद्दों को संभालेगी। केंद्रीय आवास और शहरी मामलों का मंत्रालय सीमांकन, भूमि स्वामित्व और बसावट की स्थिति पर एजेंसियों के साथ समन्वय करेगा। पांच उच्च-स्तरीय बैठकें हो चुकी हैं, और दिल्ली विकास प्राधिकरण ने जानकारी जुटाने के लिए और समय मांगा है। यह मामला दिल्ली हाई कोर्ट में भी लंबित है। दक्षिण दिल्ली के सांसद रामवीर सिंह बिधूड़ी ने ओ-ज़ोन बस्तियों के निवासियों की वकालत की है, सरकारी इमारतों और विध्वंस की धमकी का सामना कर रहे हजारों परिवारों की मौजूदगी पर प्रकाश डाला है।
