Madras HC: Police Can't Deny RSS March Over Church or Mosque Presence
Times of India · india
The Madras High Court has ruled that Tamil Nadu police cannot deny permission for RSS route marches solely based on the presence of churches or mosques along the proposed route. Justice V. Lakshminarayanan expressed his agony that police cite minority community objections as a reason for denial. He noted that as an advocate, he had worked closely with Muslims and questioned the projection of minority communities in a negative light. The court directed the petitioner to provide route details and an undertaking to adhere to guidelines before adjourning the hearing.
