Delhi Water Supply Crisis Expected Due to Ganga Canal Repairs

Residents in South and Central Delhi may face water supply disruptions. This is due to annual cleaning and repair work on the Upper Ganga Canal in Uttar Pradesh, which reduces the raw water supply to the capital. NDMC has advised residents to store water in advance. Water supply from the Sonia Vihar Water Treatment Plant will be affected, with the Yamuna River being the alternative source. This canal provides approximately 256 MGD of raw water daily to Delhi.

गंगा नहर की मरम्मत के कारण दिल्ली में पानी की सप्लाई में दिक्कत की आशंका

दक्षिण और मध्य दिल्ली के निवासियों को पानी की सप्लाई में दिक्कत का सामना करना पड़ सकता है। यह उत्तर प्रदेश में ऊपरी गंगा नहर के सालाना सफाई और मरम्मत के काम के कारण है, जिससे राजधानी में कच्चे पानी की सप्लाई कम हो जाती है। एनडीएमसी ने निवासियों को पहले से पानी स्टोर करने की सलाह दी है। सोनिया विहार जल उपचार संयंत्र से पानी की सप्लाई प्रभावित होगी, जिसमें वैकल्पिक स्रोत के रूप में यमुना नदी का इस्तेमाल किया जाएगा। यह नहर दिल्ली को प्रतिदिन लगभग 256 MGD कच्चा पानी मुहैया कराती है।
