New York Law Restricts Children's Use of AI Chatbots

New York has enacted a new law restricting minors' access to AI chatbots that simulate human companionship. The legislation requires chatbot operators to verify user ages and prevent AI interfaces from claiming human emotions or personal relationships with users under 18. Governor Kathy Hochul stated the law aims to protect children from chatbots posing as friends and from having sensitive health information collected.

न्यूयॉर्क ने AI चैटबॉट तक नाबालिगों की पहुँच को प्रतिबंधित करने वाला एक नया कानून बनाया है जो इंसानी दोस्ती का अनुकरण करते हैं। इस कानून के तहत चैटबॉट ऑपरेटरों को उपयोगकर्ताओं की उम्र की पुष्टि करनी होगी और 18 साल से कम उम्र के उपयोगकर्ताओं के साथ इंसानी भावनाएं या व्यक्तिगत संबंध होने का दावा करने वाले AI इंटरफेस को रोकना होगा। गवर्नर कैथी होचुल ने कहा कि इस कानून का उद्देश्य बच्चों को दोस्तों के रूप में पेश करने वाले चैटबॉट से और संवेदनशील स्वास्थ्य जानकारी एकत्र होने से बचाना है।
