Times of India · technology

The Kerala government has given in-principle approval to the draft Keralam State Data Policy, 2026. This policy allows government departments to share anonymised data with private entities for a fee, aiming to create a common framework for data management. Startups and industries can obtain 'internal' government data upon approval and payment, with fees covering data gathering and maintenance costs. Personal and confidential datasets are excluded from sharing. Apex-level and state-level committees have been established to oversee the policy's implementation and financial framework.
