India's Real Estate Market Matures, Offering New Opportunities in Office, Retail, and Warehousing Sectors
Economic Times Markets · stocks
India's commercial real estate market is entering a new growth phase, with office, retail, and warehousing sectors presenting fresh opportunities for institutional investors. A JLL report indicates the market is maturing, shifting focus from capital appreciation to income-led value creation. Despite historically low cap rates, the Indian real estate market continues to offer double-digit unlevered internal rates of return over a five-year period. Investors will increasingly rely on net operating income growth and operational efficiencies to generate returns as cap rate compression opportunities diminish.
