Indian Bond Yields Fall Sharply As Crude Oil Prices Slide

Business Standard · stocks

Indian bond yields experienced a significant drop of nearly 10 basis points on Monday, reaching their lowest in seven months. This decline was primarily driven by a sharp fall in crude oil prices, which also supported the Indian rupee's gain for the second consecutive day. The benchmark 10-year government bond yield fell to 7.32 per cent, tracking the decrease in crude prices and market short covering. The rupee strengthened against the dollar, influenced by lower crude oil costs and positive market sentiment ahead of US midterm polls.
