Residents evacuated from the Russian-occupied city of Oleshky have arrived in Belarus and are expected to return to Ukraine later on Saturday. The evacuations occurred on Friday during a local ceasefire brokered by US First Lady Melania Trump. Planes carrying the residents landed in Gomel, Belarus, on Saturday morning, with a bus convoy then heading towards the Ukrainian border. Several hundred people reportedly chose to remain in the devastated city despite a lack of basic services.
