Hindustan Times · sports

India head coach Gautam Gambhir criticized the Guwahati pitch after 811 runs were scored in the ODI against West Indies, calling it "not cricket" and solely a batting paradise. He argued that such pitches offer bowlers little scope for a balanced contest, making it unfair for them. Gambhir emphasized the need for pitches that provide some assistance to bowlers, allowing them to execute plans and develop their skills. He believes bowlers shouldn't be harshly judged by figures on such unresponsive surfaces.
