Maharashtra Forensic Labs Face Over 54,000 Case Backlog

Maharashtra's forensic laboratories are struggling with a significant backlog of nearly 55,000 cases as of September 1. TASI divisions account for almost 72% of this pendency, with 29,666 and 9,766 cases respectively. While the overall backlog decreased in August, these two divisions saw an increase. Director Vijay Thakare cited manpower shortages and a higher volume of incoming cases than processing capacity as primary reasons for the strain.

महाराष्ट्र की फोरेंसिक प्रयोगशालाओं में 1 सितंबर तक लगभग 55,000 केस का बड़ा बैकलॉग है। इसमें TASI डिवीज़न का हिस्सा लगभग 72% है, जिसमें क्रमशः 29,666 और 9,766 केस हैं। अगस्त में कुल बैकलॉग भले ही कम हुआ हो, लेकिन इन दो डिवीज़न में मामले बढ़ गए। डायरेक्टर विजय ठाकरे ने कहा कि कर्मचारियों की कमी और आने वाले केस की संख्या प्रोसेसिंग क्षमता से ज़्यादा होना मुख्य कारण हैं।
