FCRA Bill 2026: SBI Flags Concerns Over Frozen Funds for NGOs to JPC

The State Bank of India has raised critical questions with the Joint Parliamentary Committee regarding the FCRA Amendment Bill 2026. SBI seeks clarity on the fate of funds in accounts of NGOs whose registrations are suspended. The bank highlighted that out of 25,432 FCRA accounts at its New Delhi branch, 10,992 are currently restricted. SBI is concerned that smaller NGOs may struggle to access their own funds if registration renewals are delayed. They requested legal protection for transactions occurring before official notification of registration expiry.

भारतीय स्टेट बैंक ने एफसीआरए संशोधन विधेयक 2026 के संबंध में संयुक्त संसदीय समिति के समक्ष गंभीर सवाल उठाए हैं। एसबीआई उन एनजीओ के खातों में जमा राशि के बारे में स्पष्टता चाहता है जिनका पंजीकरण निलंबित है। बैंक ने बताया कि नई दिल्ली शाखा में एफसीआरए के 25,432 खातों में से 10,992 वर्तमान में प्रतिबंधित हैं। एसबीआई को चिंता है कि पंजीकरण नवीनीकरण में देरी होने पर छोटे एनजीओ को अपने फंड तक पहुंचने में कठिनाई हो सकती है। उन्होंने पंजीकरण की समाप्ति की आधिकारिक सूचना से पहले होने वाले लेनदेन के लिए कानूनी सुरक्षा का अनुरोध किया है।
