Madras HC Quashes Case Against Pro-Palestine Slogan Raisers

The Madras High Court has quashed a criminal case against 14 individuals accused of unlawful assembly and raising slogans in support of the Palestinian people. Justice G K Ilanthiraiyan stated that continuing the trial would be a futile exercise if the prosecution's materials did not constitute an offence. The court found that the accused's actions did not meet the requirements for unlawful assembly.

मद्रास हाई कोर्ट ने फिलिस्तीनी लोगों के समर्थन में नारे लगाने और अवैध सभा के आरोप में 14 लोगों के खिलाफ दर्ज आपराधिक मामला रद्द कर दिया है। जस्टिस जी. के. इलंथिरईयन ने कहा कि अगर अभियोजन के सबूत अपराध नहीं बनाते, तो मुकदमा चलाना बेकार है। कोर्ट ने पाया कि आरोपियों के काम अवैध सभा की परिभाषा में नहीं आते।
