The victim endured three months of captivity, forced marriage, and sexual exploitation, accompanied by physical abuse when she resisted. She managed to escape and returned home, reporting the crime to the police.

झारखंड के गुमला जिले की 15 साल की एक लड़की को नौकरी दिलाने के बहाने दिल्ली लाया गया और फिर राजस्थान के एक बूढ़े आदमी को 20,000 रुपये में बेच दिया गया। यह पूरा खेल एक स्थानीय महिला ने रचा था, जिसने लड़की को दिल्ली में एक दूसरी महिला को सौंपा था, जिसके बाद उसे बेच दिया गया। लड़की तीन महीने तक कैद में रही, उसकी जबरन शादी कराई गई और यौन शोषण किया गया, साथ ही विरोध करने पर मारपीट भी की गई। वह किसी तरह भाग निकली और घर लौटकर पुलिस को इस अपराध की सूचना दी।
