Kerala HC Questions AI Camera Capability To Track Overspeeding Vehicles

The Kerala High Court has questioned the State government and Transport department on whether AI-enabled cameras can track vehicles exceeding speed limits. The court also asked if a system exists to promptly act against such violators. This query arose following a fatal accident on the Kochi airport road where a speeding luxury car hit a two-wheeler. The government must submit practical measures to prevent such incidents within 10 days.

केरल हाई कोर्ट ने राज्य सरकार और परिवहन विभाग से पूछा है कि क्या AI-सक्षम कैमरे स्पीड लिमिट पार करने वाले वाहनों को ट्रैक कर सकते हैं। अदालत ने यह भी पूछा कि क्या ऐसे उल्लंघनकर्ताओं के खिलाफ तुरंत कार्रवाई करने की कोई व्यवस्था है। यह सवाल कोच्चि हवाई अड्डे की सड़क पर एक तेज रफ्तार लग्जरी कार द्वारा दोपहिया वाहन को टक्कर मारने वाली घातक दुर्घटना के बाद उठा। सरकार को 10 दिनों के भीतर ऐसी घटनाओं को रोकने के लिए व्यावहारिक उपाय प्रस्तुत करने होंगे।
