Two independent Members of the Legislative Council (MLCs) in Bihar have joined the BJP. Banshidhar Brajwasi, who won from the Tirhut Graduates constituency for the second consecutive time, and Dr. Rahul Raj, a first-time winner from the Saran Teachers' constituency, were inducted into the party. This move increases the BJP's newly elected MLCs to four. Both candidates had defeated Janata Dal (United) nominees in their respective seats, despite the NDA alliance fielding JDU candidates.
