This funding will bolster the proposed permanent protection of the Acarai–Rupununi Corridor, an area spanning over 2.4 million acres. The pledge aims to secure legal protection, establish boundaries, and safeguard the landscape from activities like mining and industrial logging. This initiative aligns with Guyana's broader goal to protect 30% of its lands and waters by 2030, with a focus on Indigenous rights and community involvement.

जेफ बेजोस के अर्थ फंड ने तीन साथी संस्थाओं के साथ मिलकर गुयाना के जंगल बचाने के कामों के लिए शुरुआत में 12.5 मिलियन डॉलर देने का वादा किया है। इस पैसे से 2.4 मिलियन एकड़ से ज़्यादा बड़े अकारई-रूपुनुनी कॉरिडोर को हमेशा के लिए बचाने की कोशिशों को बढ़ावा मिलेगा। इस वादे का मकसद कानूनी सुरक्षा पक्की करना, सीमाएँ तय करना और खनन व बड़े पैमाने पर लकड़ी काटने जैसी चीज़ों से इस इलाके को बचाना है। यह पहल गुयाना के 2030 तक अपने 30% ज़मीन और पानी को बचाने के बड़े लक्ष्य के साथ जुड़ी है, जिसमें आदिवासी हक़ों और लोगों की भागीदारी पर ज़ोर दिया गया है।
