Mumbai Traffic Police Issue Over 1,400 Challans to Delivery Riders in One Week
Times of India · automobile
Mumbai traffic police have intensified action against delivery riders, issuing over 1,400 challans and registering 11 FIRs in a special drive conducted from October 28 to November 4. The crackdown followed numerous complaints about delivery personnel flouting traffic rules, including rash riding, using footpaths, and riding in the wrong direction. Seventeen vehicles were also seized during this period. Transport experts suggest that aggressive delivery deadlines imposed by online platforms contribute to this lawless behaviour among riders.
