DMK Moves Court Over Child Rape Case Allegations

DMK treasurer T R Baalu has approached the Madras High Court seeking a special investigation team (SIT) to question Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay and ministers Aadhav Arjuna and C T R Nirmal Kumar. The DMK leader alleges that the ministers made public statements accusing the party of protecting an accused in a child rape case involving R Veeramani. Baalu contends that these statements, made without submitting evidence to the SIT, constitute concealment of material facts.

डीएमके के कोषाध्यक्ष टी आर बालू ने मद्रास हाई कोर्ट का रुख किया है और मुख्यमंत्री सी जोसेफ विजय और मंत्रियों आदव अर्जुन और सी टी आर निर्मल कुमार से पूछताछ के लिए एक विशेष जांच दल (SIT) की मांग की है। डीएमके नेता का आरोप है कि मंत्रियों ने आर वीरमणि से जुड़े एक बाल यौन शोषण मामले में आरोपी को बचाने के लिए पार्टी पर आरोप लगाते हुए सार्वजनिक बयान दिए। बालू का तर्क है कि SIT को सबूत सौंपे बिना दिए गए ये बयान, महत्वपूर्ण तथ्यों को छिपाने के समान हैं।
