Supreme Court Clarifies Stance On Election Form 6 Modifications

The Supreme Court has stated it never heard matters concerning modifications to Form 6, the application for new voter registration. Justice Joymala Bagchi clarified that any previous statements from October 5 should not be interpreted as approval or disapproval of changes to the form. This statement comes amid petitions seeking the suspension of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The Election Commission had previously claimed the Supreme Court upheld a declaration attached to Form 6 for voter roll revision.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने कहा है कि उसने फॉर्म 6, जो नए मतदाता पंजीकरण के लिए आवेदन है, में बदलावों से संबंधित मामलों पर कभी सुनवाई नहीं की। जस्टिस जॉयमाला बागची ने साफ किया कि 5 अक्टूबर के किसी भी पिछले बयान को फॉर्म में बदलावों की मंजूरी या नामंजूरी के रूप में नहीं समझा जाना चाहिए। यह बयान मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त ग्यानेश कुमार के निलंबन की मांग वाली याचिकाओं के बीच आया है। चुनाव आयोग ने पहले दावा किया था कि सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने मतदाता सूची संशोधन के लिए फॉर्म 6 से जुड़ी एक घोषणा को बरकरार रखा था।
