Kumud Kumar Kataki, an excise inspector, has been elected as the new president of the Sadou Asam Karmachari Parishad (SAKP), the apex government employee body in Assam. The election took place during the organization's biennial general meeting held in Nalbari from October 10. The SAKP is a highly influential socio-political and employee body in Assam, representing state government employees for decades.
