Tribunal Awards Rs 4 Crore to Bike Crash

A Maharashtra tribunal has awarded over Rs 4 crore, including interest, to the family of a pharmaceutical executive who died from injuries sustained in a 2018 motorcycle accident. The 38-year-old victim, Sachin Revankar, was a pillion rider on a motorcycle that was hit by a speeding car on the Eastern Express Highway. He remained bedridden for over a year after the crash before his death in July 2019. The tribunal accepted medical expenses of Rs 32.77 lakh and rejected the insurer's objections regarding health insurance payments.

महाराष्ट्र के एक ट्रिब्यूनल ने 2018 की मोटरसाइकिल दुर्घटना में लगी चोटों से मरने वाले एक फार्मास्युटिकल एग्जीक्यूटिव के परिवार को ब्याज सहित 4 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक का मुआवज़ा दिया है। 38 वर्षीय सचिन रेवांकर, पूर्वी एक्सप्रेस हाईवे पर तेज रफ़्तार कार की चपेट में आई मोटरसाइकिल पर पीछे बैठे थे। दुर्घटना के बाद वह एक साल से ज़्यादा बिस्तर पर रहे और जुलाई 2019 में उनकी मौत हो गई। ट्रिब्यूनल ने 32.77 लाख रुपये के मेडिकल खर्च को स्वीकार किया और स्वास्थ्य बीमा भुगतान के संबंध में बीमा कंपनी की आपत्तियों को खारिज कर दिया।
