The Nifty IT index defied broader market declines on Thursday, surging 2.1% in intraday trading ahead of second-quarter results. Nine out of ten constituent stocks traded higher, making it the top sectoral gainer. Mphasis, Coforge, and Infosys showed significant gains, while TCS and HCL Technologies also advanced. This rise occurred as the benchmark Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex indices continued to fall. Analysts anticipate mixed results for the IT sector, with mid-cap companies expected to outperform large-caps.
