Sebi Eases Foreign Investor Access, Widens Market Participation

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) is simplifying digital onboarding for foreign investors and expanding their participation in commodity derivatives. Chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey announced plans to introduce depository receipts for REITs and InvITs, aiming to reduce friction and enhance ease of access. Sebi is also consulting on market structure improvements, including fund settlement for mutual funds and derivatives pricing.

भारतीय प्रतिभूति और विनिमय बोर्ड (Sebi) विदेशी निवेशकों के लिए डिजिटल प्रक्रिया को आसान बना रहा है। अब वे कम दिक्कतों के साथ कमोडिटी डेरिवेटिव्स में ज़्यादा हिस्सा ले सकेंगे। चेयरमैन तुहिन कांता पांडे ने बताया कि REITs और InvITs के लिए डिपॉजिटरी रिसिप्ट्स लाने की योजना है। इससे निवेश करना और आसान हो जाएगा। Sebi म्यूचुअल फंड्स के सेटलमेंट और डेरिवेटिव्स की कीमतों को लेकर भी सुधारों पर विचार कर रहा है।
