800 Child Labourers Rescued in Karnataka Crackdown

Karnataka police and Labour Department officials rescued 800 child labourers in a two-hour statewide crackdown on Saturday. Bengaluru alone accounted for 503 rescues, with 18 cases registered under relevant acts. The operation, ordered after a surprise visit by Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, covered markets, eateries, and workshops. Children from various states and Nepal were found working in hazardous and non-hazardous occupations. Employers engaging children in hazardous work face FIRs.

कर्नाटक पुलिस और श्रम विभाग ने शनिवार को दो घंटे के अभियान में 800 बाल मजदूरों को छुड़ाया। अकेले बेंगलुरु में 503 बच्चों को बचाया गया और 18 मामले दर्ज हुए। मुख्यमंत्री डी.के. शिवकुमार के दौरे के बाद यह कार्रवाई हुई। इसमें बाज़ारों, होटलों और वर्कशॉप्स को खंगाला गया। विभिन्न राज्यों और नेपाल के बच्चे खतरनाक और गैर-खतरनाक कामों में लगे पाए गए। खतरनाक काम में बच्चों को लगाने वाले मालिकों पर FIR होगी।
