Supreme Court to Hear Pleas on Attacks Against Delhi Protesters, Lawyers

The Supreme Court will hear two pleas on Tuesday concerning protests in Delhi, including allegations of attacks on lawyers and protesters. Senior advocate Gopal Sankaranarayanan highlighted concerns over alleged hooligans attacking individuals without police intervention and even recording their actions. The Supreme Court Bar Association also filed a plea seeking protection for lawyers and uninterrupted court proceedings. Chief Justice of India Surya Kant assured that authorities would ensure no impediments to court functioning or lawyer movement during the protests.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट मंगलवार को दिल्ली में विरोध प्रदर्शनों से संबंधित दो याचिकाओं पर सुनवाई करेगा, जिसमें वकीलों और प्रदर्शनकारियों पर कथित हमलों की भी बात होगी। वरिष्ठ अधिवक्ता गोपाल शंकरनारायणन ने पुलिस हस्तक्षेप के बिना व्यक्तियों पर कथित गुंडों द्वारा हमले और यहां तक कि उनकी हरकतों को रिकॉर्ड करने की चिंताओं पर प्रकाश डाला। सुप्रीम कोर्ट बार एसोसिएशन ने भी वकीलों की सुरक्षा और निर्बाध अदालत की कार्यवाही की मांग करते हुए एक याचिका दायर की। भारत के मुख्य न्यायाधीश सूर्य कांत ने आश्वासन दिया कि अधिकारी विरोध प्रदर्शनों के दौरान अदालत के कामकाज या वकील की आवाजाही में कोई बाधा नहीं आने देंगे।
