India and US Discuss Early Conclusion of Interim Trade Deal

Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal held a productive discussion with U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer regarding the early conclusion of a mutually beneficial interim trade agreement. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the G-20 Trade Ministers’ meeting in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Both officials also exchanged views on G20 deliberations under the U.S. presidency. This discussion follows previous announcements on finalising a framework for a bilateral trade agreement, with ongoing negotiations addressing tariff landscape changes. The pact aims to provide India a competitive advantage in the U.S. market.
