The West Bengal government has issued closure notices to 252 unaided and unrecognised madrasas across 22 districts. Another hundred similar institutions have received show-cause notices for alleged irregularities. This action follows a survey of 'Khariji Madrasahs', which operate independently without government funding or recognition. The state aims to implement a 'One State, One Education' policy, bringing all educational institutions under a unified framework.

पश्चिम बंगाल सरकार ने 22 जिलों में 252 गैर-सहायता प्राप्त और गैर-मान्यता प्राप्त मदरसों को बंद करने के नोटिस जारी किए हैं। अनियमितताओं के आरोप में सौ अन्य ऐसे संस्थानों को कारण बताओ नोटिस मिला है। यह कार्रवाई 'खारीजी मदरसों' के सर्वेक्षण के बाद हुई है, जो सरकारी फंडिंग या मान्यता के बिना स्वतंत्र रूप से चलते हैं। राज्य का लक्ष्य 'वन स्टेट, वन एजुकेशन' नीति लागू करना है, जिससे सभी शैक्षणिक संस्थान एक समान ढांचे में आ जाएं।
