Mumbai Builder Faces Stop-Work Notice For Air Pollution Violations

Residents of Andheri (west) in Mumbai have successfully pressured authorities to act against DGS Land Developer for severe air pollution during demolition. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation issued a stop-work notice citing eight violations of state air pollution mitigation guidelines. These included a lack of dust extraction systems and inadequate site covering, leading to debris on roads. The action followed persistent complaints and documented evidence from the Andheri Lokhandwala Oshiwara Citizens’ Association (LOCA). The notice also directed police to remove workers from the site.

मुंबई के अंधेरी (पश्चिम) के निवासियों ने डीजीएस लैंड डेवलपर के खिलाफ विध्वंस के दौरान गंभीर वायु प्रदूषण के लिए कार्रवाई करने के लिए अधिकारियों पर सफलतापूर्वक दबाव डाला है। बृहन्मुंबई नगर निगम ने राज्य के वायु प्रदूषण शमन दिशानिर्देशों के आठ उल्लंघनों का हवाला देते हुए काम रोकने का नोटिस जारी किया। इनमें धूल निष्कर्षण प्रणाली की कमी और अपर्याप्त साइट कवरिंग शामिल थी, जिससे सड़कों पर मलबा फैल गया। यह कार्रवाई अंधेरी लोखंडवाला ओशिवारा सिटीजन्स एसोसिएशन (LOCA) से लगातार शिकायतों और प्रलेखित साक्ष्यों के बाद हुई। नोटिस में पुलिस को साइट से श्रमिकों को हटाने का भी निर्देश दिया गया था।
