Bengal BJP MLA Alleges Assault By Party Workers Over Anti-Extortion Stance

West Bengal BJP MLA Subhashis Om from Debra constituency has alleged he was assaulted by his own party workers on Monday night. He was hospitalised with multiple injuries after opposing alleged extortion rackets within the party. The legislator named six individuals in his police complaint filed at Debra Police Station. Mr. Om stated that some attackers joined the party after it came to power in the state. The BJP district chairperson denied knowledge of extortion, suggesting internal issues should be resolved privately.
