Six Booked For Illegal Bridge Construction On River For Coal Transport

A case has been registered against six individuals, including project managers and supervisors from RK Coal Mining Pvt Ltd and BCCL, for allegedly constructing an illegal bridge over a river. The structure, reportedly built using hume pipes and soil dumping, was intended to facilitate coal transportation, narrowing the river's natural channel. Residents' complaints led to an inquiry, prompting the Baghmara circle officer to file a police complaint. Police have initiated an investigation and issued notices to all accused parties. The matter had previously been raised by local activists and organizations.
