EPFO Wage Ceiling Raised To ₹25,000

The government has increased the EPFO wage ceiling from ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 monthly. This revision, the first since September 2014, aims to align the social security framework with formal sector wages. Average monthly earnings for regular wage/salaried workers were ₹22,699 in 2025, according to the PLFS Annual Report. The Centre's annual EPFO expenditure is projected to rise from ₹10,250 crore to ₹11,339 crore due to this change.

ईपीएफओ वेतन सीमा ₹25,000 तक बढ़ी

सरकार ने EPFO की वेतन सीमा ₹15,000 से बढ़ाकर ₹25,000 महीना कर दी है। यह बदलाव सितंबर 2014 के बाद पहली बार हुआ है। इसका मकसद सामाजिक सुरक्षा ढांचे को औपचारिक क्षेत्र की कमाई के हिसाब से ठीक करना है। PLFS की रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, 2025 में नियमित वेतन पाने वाले कर्मचारियों की औसत मासिक कमाई ₹22,699 थी। इस बदलाव से सरकार का EPFO पर सालाना खर्च ₹10,250 करोड़ से बढ़कर ₹11,339 करोड़ हो जाएगा।
