Dindigul district police have seized 1,189kg of explosive materials from an illegally operated godown near Chinnalapatti. The raid, conducted on Monday, uncovered hoarded ingredients and semi-finished paper crackers intended for festivals and celebrations. The property belongs to Sellathurai, 64, and was rented by Vijayakumar, 39. Both individuals are currently absconding, and police have launched a manhunt. The godown operated without necessary licences or safety permissions.
