A 52-year-old Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation bus conductor was arrested by Kalasapakkam police near Arani town for allegedly transporting 30 kg of gutka. Identified as K. Sivanathan, he reportedly carried the banned substance from Bengaluru to sell to retail traders in Tiruvannamalai.
