BR Shetty Seeks Rs 1.44 Lakh Crore Damages From Bank of Baroda

BR Shetty, founder of NMC Healthcare Group and UAE Exchange, has filed a lawsuit against Bank of Baroda and 25 others seeking $15 billion (approximately Rs 1.44 lakh crore) in damages. Shetty alleges the public sector bank and its officials aided in fraud involving NMC Group companies. He claims the bank acted on guarantees he never signed. The lawsuit, filed in the Bombay High Court, demands $5 billion for direct losses, $5 billion for consequential losses, and $5 billion for lost investment and business opportunities.

एनएमसी हेल्थकेयर ग्रुप और यूएई एक्सचेंज के संस्थापक बीआर शेट्टी ने बैंक ऑफ बड़ौदा और 25 अन्य के खिलाफ 15 अरब डॉलर (लगभग ₹1.44 लाख करोड़) के हर्जाने के लिए मुकदमा दायर किया है। शेट्टी का आरोप है कि सरकारी बैंक और उसके अधिकारियों ने एनएमसी ग्रुप की कंपनियों से जुड़े धोखाधड़ी में सहायता की। उनका दावा है कि बैंक ने उन गारंटियों पर काम किया जिन पर उन्होंने कभी हस्ताक्षर नहीं किए थे। बॉम्बे हाई कोर्ट में दायर मुकदमे में 5 अरब डॉलर सीधे नुकसान के लिए, 5 अरब डॉलर परिणामी नुकसान के लिए और 5 अरब डॉलर खोए हुए निवेश और व्यावसायिक अवसरों के लिए मांगे गए हैं।
