Pilibhit Tiger Reserve Faces Staff Shortage Crisis

Pilibhit Tiger Reserve, notified in June 2014, is critically understaffed, operating with about half its sanctioned frontline workforce. This severe personnel shortage hinders patrolling and anti-poaching efforts, leaving the reserve vulnerable. The crisis worsened recently with the transfer of 14 personnel, despite existing shortages. Many sanctioned posts are decades old, with minimal revisions despite increased human population pressure and encroachment. This situation jeopardizes the reserve's tiger population and ecosystem, impacting conservation goals and increasing human-wildlife conflict.

पीलीभीत टाइगर रिजर्व में स्टाफ की भारी कमी है। जून 2014 में अधिसूचित इस रिजर्व में स्वीकृत फ्रंटलाइन कर्मचारियों का केवल आधा स्टाफ काम कर रहा है। 14 कर्मचारियों के हालिया तबादले से यह समस्या और बढ़ गई है। कई पद दशकों से खाली हैं और आबादी बढ़ने व अतिक्रमण के बावजूद इनमें कोई बदलाव नहीं हुआ है। इससे बाघों की आबादी और पर्यावरण खतरे में है, जिससे संरक्षण के लक्ष्य प्रभावित हो रहे हैं।
