Egypt's intelligence chief Abbas Kamel reportedly warned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about the October 7 Hamas attack. This was the third warning from Egypt, following earlier concerns raised in June and September 2023. Kamel met Israeli officials in late September, warning the situation in Gaza was dire. Despite these warnings, Israeli officials reportedly stated the situation was under control. The UAE had also previously warned Netanyahu about a potential Hamas operation.
